Deborah Young, DNP, RN, NPD-BC, NE-BC

Deb Young, DNP, NPD-BC, NE-BC, serves as the system leader for an enterprise team of educators focused on initial and ongoing competency, transition to practice, student services, and simulation. In her clinical inquiry role, she advances nursing excellence across the enterprise by supporting evidence-based practice, performance improvement, and research initiatives. With more than 30 years of nursing experience, Deb brings over two decades of expertise in Nursing Professional Development and education across diverse healthcare settings. Her clinical background is rooted in pediatrics, where she spent 22 years at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital. She also enjoyed supporting the development of future nurses as an adjunct instructor in the Skills and Simulation Labs at the University of Cincinnati College of Nursing. Deb earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Ohio Wesleyan University, her Master of Science in Nursing with a concentration in Nursing Education from Northern Kentucky University, and her Doctor of Nursing Practice with a focus in Nursing Administration from the University of Cincinnati. She holds board certifications in Nursing Professional Development (NPD-BC) and Nurse Executive (NE-BC). An active leader in the profession, Deb is a member of the Association for Nursing Professional Development (ANPD) and serves on the Evidence-Based Practice Committee for the Ohio Organization for Nursing Leadership (OONL).
